備後絣から発展した和製デニム産地
かつて備後絣の産地だった広島県福山は、藍染や綿織物の織布技術が背景となり、ロープ染色を習得して国内有数のデニムの生地産地として発展した。もんぺには、篠原テキスタイルの代表的なテンセル糸を含んだストレッチのきいたデニム生地を使っている。
Japanese denim, developed from Bingo Kasuri
Fukuyama, once a large production area for Bingo kasuri ikat, developed into denim production with their experience with indigo and cotton weaving. For MONPE we use denim with tencel yarn and a little stretch function.
