露草色は、早朝に咲く露草の花にちなんだ明るい薄青色のことです。
万葉の時代から存在する色です。簡単に脱色可能な特性から、現在でも友禅や紋染の下絵作業に用いられています。またこの特性から、露草は「うつろう」や「消える」などに掛かる枕詞となりました。
Tsuyukusa color is a bright pale blue color associated with the Tsuyukusa flower that blooms in the early morning.
It is a color that has existed since the Manyo era. Due to its ability to be easily bleached, it is still used today for sketching Yuzen and pattern dyeing. Due to this characteristic, tsuyukusa has become a pillow word for words such as “utsuro” and “disappear.”
